March

With the war in Iran just two weeks old, the March 2026 Word from Willie newsletter opens with a salute to active Wild Weasels currently hunting SAMs in combat — and a pointed jab that “it’s been a bad year to invest in Russian and Chinese equipment.” Inside, you’ll find the full rundown on the 35th Anniversary Reunion (May 14–17), where General Horner is headlining the banquet and Col. Karl Eschmann will brief Linebacker operations, plus details on a commemorative coin and a limited-run Bremont F-4G watch that needs just 13 more orders to go into production. The issue also covers Academy visits, Leo Thorsness award winners at Shaw, a milestone WW #3000 membership, and updates from the MACH aviator-health coalition’s cancer research push at Walter Reed. Fair winds to the fallen, a hearty YGBSM to the new members — and a reminder that your IRA’s required minimum distribution can keep the Weasel legacy flying.

The Reunion was a great time! Thanks to Thunder, Sleet, Peaches, Victor and Bearly who made this possible! Pappy Parent did a great job on the banquet benediction and we were moved. I am so proud of Hollywood Hanton who led the Friday luncheon and our respect for those who have passed since the last reunion. Hollywood thanks for doing this and taking on the codification of our awards & grants! Gen Horner did a great job as our Banquet Guest speaker and Dan Debree provided a quick history of the Wild Weasels so thanks to both!
